Stoner expects strong Sachsenring

So far this season, Casey Stoner hasn't gone more than two races without a win. The 2011 title leader will be aiming to continue that form in Germany this weekend, and in doing so dampen Jorge Lorenzo's renewed confidence.

Yamaha's reigning world champion Lorenzo has closed to within 19 points of Stoner after his second victory of the season, and first in the dry, last time at Mugello.

Lorenzo is the only rider other than Stoner to have won more than one race this year, the Australian scoring four victories from eight starts.

Stoner's last win was at the wet British Grand Prix, and he has finished second and third in the two events since.

"I'm looking forward to going to Sachsenring, it's a circuit where we've enjoyed good results in the past few years," said the Repsol Honda rider. "The track is very tight and technical so it demands a different style of riding and we also need to set the bike up in a different way.

"It's pretty tough on tyres as the majority of corners are long left handers so the wear on the left hand side of the tyre is quite significant.

"It takes a lot of work to get a good set-up in order to have a good pace for the race distance. I really enjoy this race, the atmosphere is amazing and the countryside is beautiful.

"We've always been pretty fast there and I'm sure with the Honda we can be competitive".
