MotoGP Racing Avintia with two CRT-based FTR Kawasaki

With a press release Queroseno By Racing (BQR) has confirmed participation in the 2012 MotoGP World Championship with two "CRT" RDF-based Kawasaki team members under the banner " Avintia Racing "thanks to main sponsor of the Grupo Avintia.

The two pilots chosen for this project strongly backed by Raul Romero (By owner and team manager Avintia Queroseno Racing Racing) are Yonny Hernandez, a farmer with two years of experience in the world with its own BQR Moto2, and Ivan Silva, a former Ducati rider 's Antin MotoGP, Superstock 1000 and European champion CEV Extreme Stock in office just riding a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.

It should be noted that Hernandez and Silva have already had occasion to test the FTR-Kawasaki in Valencia and Jerez last November.

" The partnership will allow us to run with Avintia at high levels in motorcycle racing , "says Raul Romero. " We can make a winning team in Moto2 and Moto3, while in MotoGP with the program CRT invest in the future. We will have a bike designed and developed entirely in Spain and for us it is undoubtedly a source of pride. "

FTR to debut new Moto3 bike with Maverick Vinales

FTR will give its new Moto3 machine its first serious track test with Spanish sensation Maverick Vinales at the Almeria circuit on Wednesday (November 23).

The M311 chassis will be tested with Honda’s new NSF250R four-stroke engine as the Spanish-based BQR continues its preparations for the inaugural Moto3 series.

The deal with BQR is a major coup for Buckingham-based FTR as it means they will tie-up with rising teenage Spanish star Vinales, who won four races in an impressive 125GP campaign in 2011.

FTR is also collaborating with BQR on its Kawasaki ZX-10R-powered MotoGP project and boss Steve Bones told : “The bike will roll out in Almeria and we are testing with Maverick Vinales, so we clearly have the best rider. We are really pleased about that.

"We did have the bike in Valencia and it was very well received and we had a lot of good interest in it. We’ve got the Honda engineers coming to the test and we start to get the project ready and prepared for next year.”

Bones said the target was to have around six to eight bikes using the FTR M311 frame in Moto3 next season and he explained why they have opted to work with the Honda motor.

He added: “For us the Honda is a no-brainer. Honda is really behind Moto3, you know the engine will make the horsepower that’s required and it will make it to the end of the race. The Honda engine is the safe choice.

"Others are out there but for us they carry some risk but Honda is Honda. We are known in the paddock more now after our time in Moto2 and people have confidence in us to deliver a good machine.”

FTR to build chassis for new Gresini 1000cc project

British specialists FTR will design and build the chassis for Fausto Gresini’s new Honda CBR1000RR-powered MotoGP project in 2012.

The Italian team owner has chosen the Buckingham company, who have also built a new chassis for the Spanish-based BQR squad using a Kawasaki ZX-10R motor.

FTR have also been heavily involved in the manufacturing of Ducati’s new conventional twin spin aluminium chassis, which broke cover in Valencia last week when Valentino Rossi tested the new GP12.

Gresini will run one privately developed 1000cc machine (CRT) in 2012 and one prototype RC213V bike leased off Honda for Spanish rider Alvaro Bautista.

Gresini is yet to confirm who will ride the CBR1000RR-FTR machine and he said: “It is a source of great satisfaction that we have reached an agreement with FTR Moto to take part in the new MotoGP series, CRT.  The battle between the Claiming Rule Teams will be an exciting one and we are entering it with great enthusiasm. Our willingness to take part was always based on the condition that we had the right technical partner and with FTR Moto and a Honda CBR1000R engine we believe we can build a competitive bike for this new category. It is a new adventure that appeals to our racing spirit and it could prove to be the future of MotoGP. We will work our hardest and I am sure we will have great results together.”

FTR boss Steve Bones, who originally worked on a project with Gresini that would have used an Aprilia RSV4 engine, said: “We are absolutely delighted to start up a partnership with Team San Carlo Honda Gresini and to join them on a new adventure in MotoGP. Team Gresini have shown over the years that they are technically competent, as their numerous successes prove, and we are sure that will continue alongside FTR on this new adventure. The growing interest in the new MotoGP-CRT category is exciting for all of us and we can't wait to get on track as soon as possible to start developing the bike and breaking new technical boundaries.”

Gresini signed Bautista immediately after the final race in Valencia following the tragic death of popular Italian rider Marco Simoncelli in Sepang last month.

Moto3: FTR Moto to Debut the Prototype M311 later this month

The FTR Moto challenger for the new Moto3 World Championship in 2012 will make its track debut later this month as interest in the new machine continues to grow.

The M311 has been produced specifically for the HRC-developed, single-cylinder four-stroke motor which will be supplied to the World Championship teams and serviced by Geo Technology of Switzerland.

Armed with the knowledge from three years of Moto2 chassis development, FTR Moto’s Steve Bones believes the Moto3 machine will be a front-runner in what is certain to be a highly competitive series, he said: “We have learnt a lot in the last two years of the Moto2 World Championship and in the previous year’s Spanish Championship races.

“The M311 prototype features a conventional design to assist with the introduction of the machine into the inaugural year of the World Championship and is obviously produced in this manner with development firmly in mind.

“We’ve also learnt a lot in the last 12 months with the CFD programme and that has helped us react and develop machinery much faster than previous methods of analysis.”

Orders for the machine have already been taken and Bones expects, as with its race-winning Moto2 machinery, that the FTR Moto3 machine will prove popular.

He added: “We estimate that, from the interest shown in the Moto3 project, that we would expect to have six or eight FTR riders in the 2012 Championship.”

FTR to delay Aprilia-powered 1000cc project

British chassis specialists FTR will shelve plans to run an Aprilia RSV4-powered bike in MotoGP next season.

The Buckingham-based company had designed a frame around the RSV4 motor and it looked like Fausto Gresini would use the project in 2012 alongside a deal to run a factory-backed Honda RC213V for Marco Simoncelli.

But Honda blocked his move and FTR Steve Bones told MCN: "We had approaches for various engines but we put together a proposal to take the Aprilia superbike engine and electronics. Clearly it is a strong package in WSB and we felt it is already developed to a high level. It all hinged on the Aprilia engine but the costs were very high for the engine, so we’ve kind of put that to bed now."

Bones said given the time frame to get the project ready for testing in early February, the project was unlikely to be resurrected until 2013.

He added: "People don’t really know where to put their money and place their confidence at the moment and while that is happening the time scale is getting shorter. There’s a few people still interested but in terms of the time scale it is too late to pick that up and start running again."

FTR meanwhile have also been collaborating with Ducati on a new aluminium chassis concept being used by Valentino Rossi.
