Sachsenring has been secured to the 2012 MotoGP calendar after an agreement was reached for the circuit to continue hosting the German round of the championship.

Race promoter ADAC have been aided by the local Saxony government, who will financially support them by paying some of the fees to Dorna. A press conference was held at the circuit today where a contract was agreed upon for Sachsenring to host the German GP until 2016.

The German GP at Sachsenring was placed in doubt after the popular venue was having difficult reaching the increased sanctioning fees from Dorna. The cost to the circuit would have put ADAC in a debt of €850,000, as a result of the €3million to Dorna and an extra €1million to introduce safety changes requested by the riders.
