Pernat: Dovi the man of the hour

The second Sepang test is now behind us, and the MotoGP circus now heads to Jerez for the final pre-season test.  But before we set our sights on Spain, GPone.com had the chance to speak with Carlo Pernat, and get his opinion on what happened in Malaysia.

"I will go against the flow and say that Andrea Dovizioso was the protagonist of the second Sepang test - the Italian manager said - We don't talk about him very much, and that doesn't seem right. In spit of his physical problems, he found a good feeling with the Yamaha and recorded some impressive lap times. I think he is getting ready for an excellent season: he is the man of the hour."

And what about the bikes? "Honda continues to have problems with the tires, which don't seem to suit their bike this season. Both Stoner and Pedrosa suffered from chatter, which seems to be their only issue at the moment.  As for Yamaha, in their first outing at Brno they showed that their bike was good from the start.  The riders confirmed this at Sepang, and at the moment it looks to be the most complete package."

And finally a word on Rossi: "It wasn't an easy test for Ducati, but building a new bike in two months, when it usually takes two years, is a tough task for anyone, especially such a small manufacturer.  They need to remain calm, even if the clock is ticking down on them, and we need to rooting for Ducati and Valentino; not just because they are Italian, but because they are crucial for an exciting championship. I hope the Jerez tests go better for them, and that they can learn something more about the bike, but it looks like they are struggling at the moment and the relationship isn't producing the results they had hoped for."

Carlo Pernat Pramac new sporting director: "Sic would have ridden a Ducati"

"The first idea was to stop, I fell upon the world - he says - continued to honor the memory of Mark, he was up there to suggest it. This offer is the best: I'll be sporting director of Pramac, returning to my origins. To 99 percent will do it, it fascinates me a lot and look only to their official "

Carlo Pernat communicates well, during a radio program, his new commitment in the World Championship . The blow received by the death of Marco Simoncelli was strong, but the passion for this work is always at the root of all important decisions. While you lose one of the best managers in the paddock, other PRAMAC has secured its experience and capabilities.

"I am a close friend of the Pramac racing manager: it is a speech that we carry on for years. It 'got their offer in a very special moment, after the withdrawal of Capirossi and especially the tragic death of Marco Simoncelli, whose future would be right at Ducati: Many pilots have come forward with me, including Lorenzo, but I decided that I will deal with the pilots after the tragedy of Mark "

Charles was also the first to speak of "Marco Simoncelli Foundation", a project that wants to carry on: "I will help the family of Mark always with their foundation, whose works are already starting. For Mark's birthday there will be a charity event. I am very close to the family, who still has not passed the trauma, but the affection of the people, a lot, came from far and near, is something that helps, perhaps, but very touching is a very strong family. Although it is very difficult to get back to normal. "

He concludes: "The 1000 is a cylinder in which the team has a great background: Honda has made some strides, but after a change of cylinder Ducati readjust knows better than others, remember the world of Stoner in 2008. Valentino had problems this year because they do not drive a Ducati engine is simple: we will understand something already on the first impact with the tests in January. "

Pernat: MotoGP and CRT? A danger

The question that all the fans, but not limited to, pilots and managers will also do this winter, is how to live the next season of MotoGP prototypes and production-based series developed CRT calls.

They range from those who are satisfied with the route taken by the new premier class of motorcycle racing to those who openly hostile. Between the two opinions is part of our Carlo Pernat this that illustrates strengths and weaknesses. And dangers.

"The future of MotoGP is very difficult. I think the next season with the insertion of CRT will be problems from the sporting point of view and safety . The CRT has nothing to do with the change that was made in 2002 the entry of 4 times.

With the 500, then you could afford to get on the podium, which could Capirossi at Motegi . The CRT will not happen, these bikes will take three or four seconds a lap, and this will create two separate leagues, one side twelve official bike, the other ten of these production-based series hybrid. We can imagine the first problems during the tests: Stoner is already angry when he was hampered in the previous situation, let alone now. The pilots dubbed overtaking will occur before the end of the race and will entail additional risks to the difference in performance.

Compared to the Superbike has lost so much, in my opinion. There are more houses there, and fled from the MotoGP Kawasaki, Suzuki and Aprilia before. From the point of view of the pilots, beyond the top 4, Stoner, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Rossi Superbike people like Biaggi, Checa and Melandri gets around one million euros, more than the majority of the riders racing in MotoGP, with Dovizioso from that I think will earn half. Disproportionate to the value of the pilot.

It 'a tough time for the drivers ... the future is that the houses will disclose only the engines, but the transition to this new situation is painful, difficult and even dangerous.

As the owner of the two leagues is now the same I think we can reach even to merge the two categories in a single weekend. "
