Aspar buoyed by oil giant's backing

American lubrication giant Bel-Ray has confirmed a three-year sponsorship deal with Team Aspar until 2014.

Bel-Ray will be the official oil supplier of Aspar's MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 teams.

Aspar remains the largest privateer team in the world championships and this season will run six riders including Aleix Espargaro and Randy De Puniet (MotoGP), Toni Elias and Nicolas Terol (Moto2) and Hector Faubel and Alberto Moncayo (Moto3).

Aspar team owner, Jorge Martínez, said: “It is very important for us to have the collaboration of a sponsor as prestigious as Bel-Ray. I am sure that this union will be mutually beneficial.

“Team Aspar will continue to be the biggest private team in the world championship next season, with a presence in Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP. Bel Ray will support us in all three classes.

“The fact that the Team Aspar has international sponsors shows that we are doing a good job, that our hard work is of interest outside of our homeland and that allying oneself with Team Aspar is synonymous with success.”

The MotoGP championships blasts off in Qatar on April 8 and concludes in Valencia on November 11.
